College Soccer News National Team Of The Week – Week Ending September 20, 2015

Jordan Morris – Junior – Forward – Stanford Morris and his teammates won their seventh straight contest to improve to 7-1-0. Morris converted a header out of a corner kick put in play by Corey Baird and Tomas Hillard-Acre scored twice to lead the Cardinal to a 3-1 victory over San Francisco. Morris was also at the center of the Stanford offense and scored the game-winning goal in overtime to help the Cardinal top a determined Davidson team 1-0. 
T.J. Casner – Senior – Forward – Clemson  Hold that Tiger. Clemson had a three win week to improve to 6-1-1. Casner who hails from Irving, California skillfully placed a shot into the lower right corner of the frame from twenty yards out of a free kick in the Tiger's 3-0 on the road win over in-state rival Furman. He also contributed the game-winning goal when he scored from eight yards out in Clemson's 2-1 win over ACC foe Duke. Casner concluded a solid week of play when he converted a penalty kick to help the Tigers top a good Brown team 3-1. Clemson improves to 6-1-1. 
Nicko Hansen – Junior – Forward – New Mexico   A solid combination of passes and a good run by Hansen resulted in Hansen being at the right place at the right time to score at close range to give the Lobos the edge they needed to top Missouri State 1-0. Hansen also made a nice play to create the space he needed to find the back of the net in New Mexico's 2-1 come from behind win over a very good American University team. The Lobo's pick up two quality wins to improve to 5-1-1.  
Gordon Wild – Freshman – Forward – USC Upstate Wild has been finding the back of the net on a consistent basis for USC Upstate. This week he scored twice out of free kicks and scored out of a corner kick to lead the Spartans to a 5-4 come from behind win over Winthrop. He also scored twice to lead USC Upstate to a 3-2 win over Gardner-Webb. Wild leads the NCAA in scoring to date with a total of twelve goals. The Spartans are 4-2-0. 
Jake Rozhansky – Sophomore – Midfielder – Virginia  Rozhansky netted Virginia's first goal in their 2-0 victory over James Madison when he scored out of a corner kick with a double assist from Patrick Foss and Edward Opoku. He also scored the lone goal from within the box in the Cavalier's 1-0 win over ACC foe N.C. State. The goal was set up by Nicko Corriveau when he flicked a ball backwards with his heel that Rozhansky cleanly drove into the far corner of the goal. The Cavaliers are gaining momentum and improve to 4-0-2. 
Jorge Gomez Sanchez – Junior – Midfielder – Temple  Gomez Sanchez and his teammates had a productive week of play. Gomez Sanchez and teammate Jordan Wix-Rauch forced a turnover and Gomez Sanchez took advantage of it to place a shot into the lower left side of the net to score what proved to be the game-winning goal in Temple's 2-1 win over Villanova. He also came up big for the Owls when he contributed a hat trick to lead them past Penn 3-0. Temple is now 6-0-1. 
Jose Carrera-Garcia – RS Sophomore – Midfielder – California  Carrera-Garcia contributed the assist on the goals scored by forwards Christian Thierjung and Paul Salcedo and defender Joshua Morton to play a key role in California's 3-0 win over Davidson. He also deftly curled a shot over a wall and into the near post out of a set piece from twenty yards and contributed a helper on one of Thierjung's two goals to help the Golden bears top San Francisco 3-1. California is 5-1-0. 
Daniel Grundei – Senior – Defender – Hofstra The center back and team captain was a big part of a solid Hofstra defensive effort and also alertly placed a shot into the back of the net from close range out of a corner kick with an assist from Rory Murphy to help the Pride top UNCW 2-1 in a key Colonial Athletic Association contest. Sophomore forward Meshack Eshun Addy tallied the game-winning goal for Hofstra. The Pride is 6-1-0 to date.  
Zach Galluzzo – Junior – Defender – Binghamton  Galluzzo was a force on both sides of the ball for the Bearcats in a 1-0 win over Cornell and a 2-1 win over Siena. He provided the assist on junior forward Alex Varkatza's game-winning goal in the contest with Cornell and scored both of Binghamton's goals out of corner kicks in their victory over Siena before an enthusiastic crowd of 1,065 fans at the Bearcats Sport Complex. Binghamton improves to 5-2-0.  
Colton Storm – Junior – Defender – North Carolina Storm knotted the score at 1-1 when he fired a shot into the far left post from fifteen yards out in North Carolina's 4-2 win over highly regarded Notre Dame at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill. He also contributed an assist on teammate Tucker Hume's goal with one second remaining in the first half and provided a helper on one of teammate Alan Winn's two goals. The Tar Heels secure a marquee win on national television and improve to 5-0-1. 
Mike Kirk – Senior – Goalkeeper – LaSalle  Kirk was solid between the pipes anchoring a stout Explorer defense that shoutout highly regarded UMBC 1-0. Sophomore Joe Hansen tallied the game-winning goal for LaSalle in that one. Kirk also had a solid six save evening in LaSalle's 2-1 win over Rider. Colman Kennedy netted the game-winning goal for the Explorers in that contest. LaSalle ups their record to 4-3-0. The Explorers have an important match coming up on Wednesday when they face a very good Temple team.
