Gordon Wild – Freshman – Forward – USC Upstate

Wild has been a scoring machine for the USC Upstate Spartans.  USC Upstate is located in Spartanburg, South Carolina and is a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference.  On Wednesday Wild recorded a hat trick netting two goals out of free kicks and a third out of a corner kick as the Spartans overcame a two-goal deficient in the final nineteen minutes of play to top Winthrop 5-4. Teammate sophomore midfielder Leon Schwarzer scored twice to also play a key role in the win.

At the concluson of the contest Spartan head coach Greg Hooks stated, "I've been around the game of soccer for over thirty-six years and this might be the wildest game I have ever been a part of."  He added, "I can't say enough about how our guys kept fighting once we got down two goals midway through the second half."

Wild also scored twice in USC Upstate's 3-2 victory over Gardner-Webb including a picture perfect bending free kick from thirty yards out. Schwarzer also contributed a goal in that win.

Wild is currently leading the NCAA in goals scored with twelve so far this year.

USC Upstate improves to 4-2-0 and will return to the pitch on Friday when they travel to face Davidson out of the Atlantic 10 Conference.
