Team of the Week

West Virginia

West Virginia got two Sun Belt wins this past week, both were shutouts. They have now kept clean sheets in four straight and are on a three game winning streak as they head into their final stretch of the conference schedule.

Offensive Player of the Week

Connor Miller – Senior – Midfielder – Cornell

Connor Miller scored against Bucknell and then finished off last week with a trio of assists to help Cornell extend their winning streak to three straight against Dartmouth. The senior midfielder is on pace to have a career season as he is one goal contribution away from tying his personal best.

Defensive Player of the Week

Mathis Richter – Junior – Center back – UCLA

Mathis Richter hit the game winner against San Diego to help solidify UCLA in the top 25 as the regular season hits its final stretch. Richter and UCLA have two massive home games against Indiana and Washington to finish Big Ten Conference play.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Dominic Pereira – R-Sophomore – Northwestern

Dominic Pereira helped Northwestern keep a 0-0 draw against a top team in Indiana on the road this past week. This is after Pereira also had a shutout against UCLA the week before. It took four saves for Pereira to help the Wildcats get past the top 5 Hoosiers. The young goalkeeper has now improved his save rate to 70.9% for the season.

Freshman of the Week

Carter Derksen – Midfielder – Creighton

Creighton is flush with productive freshman talent this season. Carter Derksen is the second Creighton freshman to win a Freshman of the Week award this year and it’s because of his three assists against Butler. Derksen has started in 15 of Creighton’s 16 games as they remain unbeaten heading into their final stretch of the season.
