College Soccer News National Team Of The Week – Week Ending September 6, 2015

Vince Cicciarelli – Senior – Forward – Saint Louis  Saint Louis upped its unbeaten streak at Hermann Stadium to twenty games as a result of their 3-0 victory over Memphis. Ciciarelli converted a header to the far post after receiving a cross from Marco Heskamp and scored out of a breakaway with an assit from Anthony Brown to help the Billikens secure the win and improve to 2-0-0. Saint Louis will travel to face Akron on Friday, September 11 in what shapes up to be a very competitive early season college soccer matchup.  
Jon Gallagher – Sophomore – Forward – Notre Dame Gallagher gathered a loose ball at the top of the box and placed it into the lower left corner of the goal from fifteen yards out in Notre Dame's 2-0 win over South Florida. He also contributed two goals to lead the Irish past UAB 2-0. For his effort he was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament.   
Darius Madison – Senior – Forward – UMBC Madison placed a shot into the upper right corner of the net from fourteen yards out with a double assist from Patrick Jean-Giles and Joseph Pratt to give UMBC the edge needed to defeat Ohio State 1-0. He also scored from twenty-four yards ouy to play a key role in UMBC's 2-1 win over Oakland. The Retrievers improve to 3-0-1. 
Mark Moulton – Junior – Midfielder – Nebraska Omaha Moulton skillfully and calmly placed a side volley into the left side of the goal to play a key role in the Mavericks' 1-0 win over highly regarded UC Irvine. Credit teammates Fazio Alihodzic and Emir Alihodzic with a double assist on the goal. He also contributed a goal and a helper on teammate Noor Hamadi's goal in Nebraska Omaha's 4-1 win over CSUN. The Mavericks under the direction of head coach Jason Mims are 4-0-0. 
Oliver Shannon – Sophomore – Midfielder – Clemson An enthusiastic crowd of 7,868 fans, including Shannon's father who is from the United Kingdom, was on hand to watch Clemson top in-state rival South Carolina 3-0. Shannon gave Clemson the early advantage when he scored in the 26th minute with a double assist from teammates Austin Burnikel and Iman Mafi. He made it 3-0 in the 51st minute of play when he scored unassisted. Clemson improves to 3-0-0 and has a big one coming up on Monday when they host undefeated and nationally ranked Coastal Carolina.  
Sam Hamilton – Junior – Midfielder – Denver The Pioneer captain placed a volley into the back of the net with an assist from teammate Karsten Hanlin in Denver's 2-2 tie with UC Santa Barbara. He also controlled and placed a rebound into the back of the net to score the Pioneers first goal in their 2-1 win over San Diego. Denver improves to 3-0-1. 
Chris Wehan – RS Junior – Midfielder – New Mexico Wehan had a very productive weekend. He scored out of a free kick from nineteen yards out and scored from twenthy yards out in New Mexico's 2-2 draw with San Diego. He also scored twice to lead the Lobo's in a come from behind 2-1 win over UC Santa Barbara. New Mexico improves to 1-1-1.  
J.T. Kotowski – Junior – Midfielder – Bradley Kotowski was at the heart of a stout Bradley defensive effort that resulted in shutout wins over DePaul 1-0 and Milwaukee 1-0. He also converted on a bicyle kick in the 87th minute of play to give the Braves the edge they needed to prevail in the win over Milwaukee.  Bradley ups their record to 3-0-1 year to date.  
Miguel Gutierrez – Junior – Defender – Coastal Carolina Gutierrez was outstanding on both sides of the ball for the Chanticleers. The center back anchored a stout Coastal Carolina defense that shutout Charlotte 2-0. He also drove a bullet into the back of the net from ten yards out to produce the insurance goal for Coastal in the win over the 49ers. The Chanticleers are 3-0-0 season to date.  
Grant Lillard – Sophomore – Defender – Indiana The IU center back was rock solid on the defensive side of the ball in the Hoosiers 2-1 win over UAB and 2-0 win over South Florida. He also alertly placed a rebound into the back of the net in the contest with South Florida. Todd Yeagley stated, "Grant's level of play has been outstanding." Indiana improves to 3-1-0. 
MIcah Bledsoe – Junior – Goalkeeper – Lipscomb Bledsoe's play between the pipes was crucial in Lipscomb's 2-1 upset win over Xavier. He had a seven save evening including several very difficult stops and picked up his 12th career win in goal. The victory over Xavier was Lipscomb's first of the 2015 season after opening with two losses.
