College Soccer News – National Team of the Week – Week Ending September 30, 2018

Sven Koenig – Senior – Forward – Creighton Koenig scored twice to help power the Bluejays past Jacksonville 2-1. He also netted the game-winning goal in Creighton's 1-0 win over Seton Hall in a Big East Contest.  The Bluejays have won six straight to improve to 7-1-1 with a 3-0-0 mark in conference play.  
Giovanni Montesdeoca – Sophomore – Forward – UNC  Montesdeoca made a nice move to create the space he needed to find the back of the net after receiving a cross from Nils Bruening and converted a header with a double assist from Mauricio Pineda and Milo Garvanian to propel the Tar Heels past Clemson 2-0. North Carolina is 7-1-0 with a 3-0-0 mark in ACC play.   
Tate Robertson – Senior – Forward – Bowling Green  The Bowling Green team captain has been an impact player since arriving on campus in 2015.  Robertson scored two picture perfect goals in the first half of play to give the Falcons the edge they needed to top Valparaiso 2-1.  Bowling Green will seek to add to their win total when they host Akron on Saturday.    
Emil Elveroth – Sophomore – Forward – UNCW  Elveroth had a productive week of play.  He scored and contributed an assist on teammate Cesar Cruz's goal to help the Seahawks thump the College of Charleston 4-1.  He also scored and contributed a helper on David Lozano's goal in UNCW's 2-0 win over JMU.  The Seahawks, who will square off with North Carolina on Tuesday, improve to 7-1-1.   
Alec Philippe – Junior – Forward – Wright State Philippe scored and produced two helpers in Wright State's 6-2 win over Duquesne.  He also added two goals and an assist to play a key role in Wright State's 4-2 victory over Detroit Mercy in Horizon League play. Philippe has nine goals to date for the Raiders who are now  8-0-1. Wright State travels to face Virginia on Tuesday night. 
Ilias Kosmidis – Junior – Forward – HIgh Point  Kosmidis converted a penalty kick and sloted a shot just inside the right post after receiving a pass from Jonathan Bolanos in HPU's 2-0 win over Appalachian State. He also drove a header into the back of the frame served in by Ryan Inman in the Panther's 1-0 win over Winthrop.  High Point improves to 8-1-0 with a 3-0-0 mark in Big South play.  
Diogo Pacheco – RS Sophomore – Midfielder – Akron  Pacheco contributed a hat trick including the golden goal in overtime to give Akron a big momentum building come from behind 4-3 win over VCU. The Zips have now won three straght to improve to 4-3-1.   
Vlad Jandric – Junior – Midfielder – Cleveland State Jandric scored three times to lead Cleveland State to a 3-1 win over UIC in Horizon League play.  The hat trick was the first for a Viking since the 2013 season.  Cleveland State improves to 2-5-1 with a 1-2-1 mark in conference play.  
Bruno Lapa – Junior – Midfielder – Wake Forest  Lapa has been a force for the Demon Deacons.  He  fournd the back of the net twice and contributed an assist in Wake Forest's 5-1 win over Davidson.  He also netted what proved to be the game-winning goal off a nice give and go with teammate Logan Gdula in Wake Forest's 4-2 win over Duke.  The Deacons are 10-0-0. 
Amir Bashti – Senior – Midfielder – Stanford Bashti scored and contributed an assist on Logan Panchot's goal in Stanford's 3-0 win over San Diego State.  He also scored and contributed a helper on Charlie Wehan's goal to help Stanford top UCLA 3-0.  The Cardinal improve to 5-1-3 with a 2-0-0 mark in Pac-12 play.  
Justin Wright – Senior – Defender – UC Davis  Wright, who was at the right place at the right time, came through in the clutch for UC Davis with a two goal performance that included the  golden goal in overtime to propel the Aggies to a 2-1 win over Sacramento State. UC Davis improves to 7-1-2 overall.  
Marcus Lindqvist – Senior – Defender – Hofstra Lindqvist was a key part of a Hofstra defense that shutout Drexel 1-0 and William and Mary 4-0. He sent a left footed shot into the back of the net off a give-and-go with teammate Luke Brown in the win over Drexel and contributed the helper on Matthew Vowinkel's goal in Hofstra's win over William and Mary. The Pride improves to 5-3-3.   
Elliot Panicco – RS Junior – Goalkeeper – Charlotte Pancicco had a nine save week during which he anchored a stout Charlotte defense that shutout Wofford 2-0 and UAB 1-0.  His saves included a huge stop of a penalty kick in the contest with UAB.  Charlotte improves to 5-2-1 and secures their first win of the year in CUSA play.
