College Soccer News National Player Of The Week – Week Ending December 1, 2013

Patrick Mullins – Senior – Forward – Maryland

Mullins continues to be a force and catalyst on the offensive side of the ball for the Terps.  His selection as the CSN National Player of the Week reflects his work this week as well as what he has accomplished during a brilliant four year tenure in College Park. This week he completed his last contest at Ludwig Field as a Terp in style by netting what proved to be the game-winning goal to lead Maryland past U.C. Irvine 1-0.  Mullins' goal was set up by teammate Tsubasa Endoh who made a nice move to create the space he needed to send a cross that Mullins cleanly placed in the back of the net for his sixteenth score so far this year.

Number five seeded Maryland now travels to the west coast for a rematch with a number four seeded California team that topped the Terps 3-2 in overtime on September 1.  The Terps and the Golden Bears will square off in what has all the makings of an exciting Elite Eight contest which is scheduled to get underway at Goldman Field in Berkeley on Saturday, December 7 at 4:30 EST.
