Trinity Byars – Junior – Forward – Texas
Byars is a force on the offensive side of he ball for the Longhorns. She scored twice in the second half of play and along with Ashlyn Miller contributed the assist on defender Abby Allen’s game-winning goal with 17 seconds remaining in regulation in Texas’ 4-3 season opening on the road win over Long Beach State team. Byars followed that up with her third career trick to help power the Longhorns past Rice 6-0 in their home opener.
Byars, the 2022 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and an All-American, is one of only four Longhorns to reach 30 career goals.
Texas resumes play when they host LSU on Thursday and Iona on Sunday.
