Bertin Jacquesson – Junior – Forward – Pittsburgh
Jacquesson used his touch on the ball and quickness to find the space and angle he needed to drive a shot from outside the center of the box into the upper left corner of the net in the 87th minute of play to give Pitt the edge they needed to secure a 2-1 come from behind win over previously unbeaten and top seeded Kentucky in Lexington in the Sweet Sixteen of the 2022 NCAA Tournament. Graduate Student forward Josh Luchini provided the assist on Jacquesson’s game-winning goal.
Jacquesson has eight goals and four assists on the season.
The Panthers under head coach Jay Vidovich improve to 11-4-5 and advance to the Elite Eight where they will host the Portland Pilots out of the West Coast Conference on Saturday. Pitt has played their way into the Elite Eight for three straight seasons.
