Melanie Forbes – Senior – Forward – Indiana
Forbes came through in the clutch when she utilized her left foot to slot a shot into the near post out of a corner kick served in by freshman Anna Bennet in the 94th minute of play to give the Hoosiers the advantage they needed to secure a hard fought 1-0 win over Big Ten opponent Rutgers.
Forbes also scored out of a breakaway with an assist from sophomore Avery Lockwood and sent a shot into the far post from the top of the box to play a key role in Indiana’s subsequent 2-0 win over Iowa.
The Hoosiers improve to 2-1-0 and take to the road to face Penn State on Thursday, March 4 and Maryland on Sunday, March 7.
