Rafael Andrade Santos | Senior | Midfielder | VCU |
Santos scored twice to play a key role in VCU's 3-0 upset win over Maryland. His first goal was a picture perfect rocket into the back of the frame from thirty yards out. His second shot was a well placed one-timer into the back post from five yards out that was set up by a pass from Eli Lockaby and a subsequent cross from Slad Haji. Santos also contributed a goal and an assist in VCU's 2-1 win over Atlantic-10 foe Rhode Island. He sent a blast into the lower left corner of the goal from eighteen yards out and was credited with the assist on teammate Francesco Amorosino's game-winning goal in the win over Rhode Island. VCU improves to 10-4-0 overall with a 6-1-0 mark in conference play. The Rams will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to face St. Bonaventure to close out regular season play. |
