College Soccer News National Player Of The Week – Mauro Cichero, SMU – Week Ending October 11, 2015

Mauro Cichero – Sophomore – Forward – SMU

Cichero is a playmaker and difference maker. He has scored a total of eight goals and contributed four assists so far this year and is among the reasons why SMU is off to a 9-2-2 overall record with an impressive 4-0-0 mark in American Athletic Conference play. The Norman, Oklahoma native continues to come up big for the Mustangs. This week he netted the insurance goal in SMU's 3-1 on the road win over Memphis with an assist from sophomore midfielder Bryce Clark. In addition, Cichero's header after receiving a cross from sophmore defender Jared Rice who has a total of seven helpers so far this year proved to be the game-winner in SMU's 1-0 win at home over Connecticut.

The Mustangs will travel to face Cincinnati on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Gettler Stadium in what looks to be another challenging American Athletic Conference match. The Mustangs then close out regular season play with Tulsa at home, South Florida in Tampa, and Temple at home.
