College Soccer News National Player Of The Week – Week Ending November 24, 2013

 

Alec Sundly – Senior – Midfielder – California – 

Sundly, who hails from Calistrano Beach, California, is a playmaker who continues to make good things happen for the Golden Bears. On Sunday he played a key role in California's 3-1 win over Bradley in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.  During the contest with Bradley he found the back of the net twice for the Golden Bears and assisted on teammate Steve Birnbaums goal. Teammates Seth Casiple and Connor Hallisey provided the helpers on Sundly's goals.  Sundly has now scored a total of eight goals to date and contrbuted two assists.

After closing out regular season play with loses to Washington and Stanford, the Golden Bears get back in the win column in style improving their record to 13-4-2.  California regains momentum and now advances to the Sweet Sixteen where they will host a very good Coastal Carolina team out of the Big South Conference on Sunday, December 1.
