College Soccer News – National Player Of The Week – Creighton Forward Riggs Lennon – Week Ending October 9, 2016

Riggs Lennon Senior Forwad  Creighton

Lennon's selection is based in large part on the contribution he has made year to date at Creighton. The Bluejays entered the season with a big void to fill due to the departure of forward Fabian Herbers and midfielder Timo Pitter.

The senior transfer from Virginia has fit in nicely with the Creighton attack and proved to be just what the doctor ordered contributing nine goals including three game-winners to date. This week Lennon came up big once again for Creighton when he converted a header out of a corner kick put in play by teammate Joel Rydstrand to give the Bluejays the edge they needed to top a very good Butler team 1-0.

Creighton now stands at 7-1-3 overall with a league leading 3-0-1 record in Big East Conference play.

The Bluejays return to the pitch on Tuesday, October 11 when they travel to face non-conference foe Tulsa. Creighton then returns to the friendly confines of Morrison Stadium on Saturday to host Marquette in a Big East Conference contest.
