College Soccer News – National Player Of The Week – Cal State Fullerton Forward Alex Heilmann – Week Ending October 23, 2016

Alex Heilmann Senior  Forward  Cal State Fullerton

Heilmann continues to make good things happen for Cal State Fullerton. This week he was again at the heart of what has been a revitalized Titan offense when he drove a header into the back of the net out of a free kick put in play by teammate Robert Coronado in Cal State Fullerton's 3-1 win over UC Irvine. Heilmann also scored from ten yards with a nice assist from Ross McPhie to lead the Titans past UC Riverside 1-0 on the road.

Heilmann has scored three times in the last four matches and he leads the Big West conference with ten goals scored to date.

CS Fullerton head coach George Kuntz stated, "I'm proud of the progress our team has made in the past few weeks."  He added, "Our team displayed grit, poise, calm under pressure, defensive composure and execution by Alex Heilmann."

Heilmann is a key reason why the Titans have won three straight to improve their record to 8-8-1 overall with a 4-3-1 mark in Big West play.

The Titans will have a key Big West Conference contest coming up on Wednesday when they host CSUN in their final regular season home match.
