Former Duke Blue Devil Kat Rader Earns NWSL’s Rookie of the Month for May

Duke graduate Kat Rader has hit the ground running for the Houston Dash in her rookie NWSL campaign, earning Rookie of the Month for May. Rader scored goals in back-to-back games to help the Dash earn four points.

The midfielder has been a bright spot for the Dash, who have had a difficult start to the 2026 season. Rader is tied for the most goals scored by a rookie (4) and is tied with Kalyssa van Zanten for the most goals by a Dash player.

After the June break, Rader will be looking to help the Dash climb the table as they currently sit outside the playoff line in 11th place.
