The West Coast Conference announced last week that it will include conference championships for three of its sports, including men’s and women’s soccer.
The WCC is the only conference in Division I soccer without a conference championship, but that will change in the 2026-27 season.
The men’s and women’s championship format will include a semifinal and a final for the top four teams in the conference, which is set to add Seattle on July 1, 2025.
The 2024 WCC men’s soccer standings included San Diego, San Francisco, Oregon State, and Portland as the top four teams that would have qualified for a championship.
On the women’s side in 2024, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Gonzaga, and Washington State all finished in the top four and would have qualified for a championship if the WCC had one.
