Team of the Week

Colorado

Colorado shut out #5 Texas Tech midweek and then followed up that ranked 3-0 win with a 1-0 victory over Arizona. Hope Leyba (3 goals) and Ava Priest were the goal scorers for Colorado this past week. The Buffaloes are now unbeaten in five straight games as they prepare for the final regular-season game at Kansas on Thursday.

Offensive Player of the Week

Hope Leyba – Junior – Forward – Colorado

Leyba scored a brace against Texas Tech and had the 1-0 game-winner against Arizona this past week. Leyba has now scored 18 goals on the year with five game-winning goals. The forward is second in women’s Division I soccer in goals scored.

Defensive Player of the Week

BK Harris – Graduate Student – Georgia

Harris was given the start and got the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at Mississippi State last Sunday. She helped the Bulldogs keep the clean sheet in her 47 minutes of play, and with the win, Georgia earned the 3-seed and will play either Florida or Kentucky in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Jordan LeVasseur – Freshman – Eastern Kentucky

LeVasseur kept the clean sheet against Lipscomb this past week, helping Eastern Kentucky earn a 1-0 win. She made 12 saves in the game, which is the fourth time this season she has kept double-digit saves. The freshman is averaging 6.87 saves per game (fifth in Division I) and has now kept six clean sheets on the year. LeVasseur currently has the third-best save percentage in women’s Division I soccer.

Eastern Kentucky and LeVasseur play North Florida in the ASUN Quarterfinals tomorrow.

Freshman of the Week

Ava McDonald – Forward – Texas

McDonald had a goal and an assist against Ole Miss on Sunday, bringing her season tally to 13 goal contributions (9g/4a) on the year. She leads all women’s Division I with 22 points. This was Texas and McDonald’s final game of the season as they failed to qualify for the SEC Tournament.
