| Jody Brown – Senior – Forward – Florida State – Brown is among the most explosive players in the country. This week she scored twice in FSU’s 4-0 win over North Florida and converted the game-winning goal with a nice assist from teammate Beata Olsson in the Seminoles 1-0 win over in-state rival Florida. FSU improves to 5-0-0. |
| Avery Patterson – Senior – Forward – North Carolina – Patterson scored with an assist from sophomore forward Maddie Dahlien to net UNC’s first goal in their win 2-1 over nationally ranked South Carolina. She also made a nice run to create the space and angle she needed to score the Tar Heels lone goal in a subsequent 1-1 tie on the road with nationally ranked Alabama. Patterson has four goals and one assist on the season for the Tarheels who are 5-0-3. |
| Gianna Paul – Sophomore – Forward – Alabama – Paul is a difference maker on the offensive side of the ball for the Tide. This week she scored from 25 yards out in Alabama’s 2-0 win over Southern Mississippi and displayed her tenacity and persistence with a nice run and some fancy footwork to net the lone goal for Alabama in their 1-1 tie at home with nationally ranked North Carolina. Alabama is 5-0-3 with a touch SEC game coming up on Thursday against Georgia. |
| Shelby Sallee – Junior – Forward – Xavier – Sallee returned to the pitch for the Musketeers in 2023 after missing the 2022 season due to injury. She sent a rebound into the back of the frame and scored out of a free kick put in play by midfielder Elise Le to play a key role in Xavier’s 2-1 win over Pitt. She also scored out of a corner kick with a double assist from Jane Olcott and Samantha Wiehe in the Musketeers 2-0 win over Bellarmine. Xavier improves to 6-1-0. |
| Megan Norkett – Freshman – Forward – Northwestern – Norkett had a very productive week. She scored Northwestern’s first two goals to help power them past Weber State 4-1. She also scored their first goal and provided a helper on forward Ella Hase’s game-winner in the Wildcats 3-2 win over a very competitive Virginia Tech team in Blacksburg. Northwestern is now 6-0-2 and secures their first unbeaten non-conference slate since 2028. |
| Julia Leas – Graduate Student – Midfielder – Georgetown – Leas was part of a rock solid Hoyas defensesive effort that limited James Madison to only three shots on goal in route to a scoreless tie. She also was a catalyst on the defensive side of the ball for Georgetown in a subsequent 1-1 tie with nationally ranked Stanford. Georgetown remains undefeated with a 4-0-3 record. The Hoyas conclude non-conference play when they travel to face Princeton next Thursday. |
| Gabby DelPico – Senior – Midfielder – Harvard – DelPico was on her game contributing two assists in Harvard’s 5-2 win over Syracuse. She followed that up with a two goal performance to lead the Crimson past NC State 2-0. Harvard improves to 4-1-1. |
| Samantha Cary – Fifth Year – Defender – Iowa – Cary put in a full shift on the defensive side of the ball in Iowa’s scoreless tie with Virginia in Charlottesville and drove a header into the back of the frame to add an insurance goal in the Hawkeyes subsequent 3-0 shutout victory over George Mason in Fairfax, Virginia. Iowa is 6-0-1. |
| Ava Priest – Freshman – Defender – Colorado – Priest opened the scoring for the Buffalos in their 2-0 on the road win over New Mexico. She also contributed an assist via a flip throw in along with an assist from Shyra James on Juliauna Hayward’s game-winner in Colorado’s 2-1 win over Colgate. The Buffalos are 7-1-0. |
| Mieke Schiemann – Junior – Defender – Penn State – Schiemann earns another spot on the College Soccer News Women’s National Team of the Week with two goals out of set pieces and a solid showing on the defensive side of the ball to help the Nittany Lions top Princeton 3-0. Junior defender Eva Alonso and redshirt sophomore midfielder Riley Gleason contributed the helpers on Schiemann’s goals. Penn State remains undefeated with a 6-0-1 record. |
| Marisa Shorrock – Senior – Goalkeeper – Yale – Shorrock had a 13 save week in goal to help Yale secure a 2-1 win over Seton Hall and a 1-0 win over Connecticut. The Bulldogs improve to 4-1-1. Yale will seek to keep their winning streak alive when they travel to Queens to face St. John’s on Thursday. |
