College Soccer News – National Team Of The Week – Week Ending September 10, 2017

Marcel Zajac – Sophomore – Forward – Akron Zajac scored twice to help Akron top UC Santa Barabara 3-1. The Zips improve to 2-2-0. 
DeJuan Jones – Junior – Forward – Michigan State Jones found the back of the net twice to power MIchigan State past Rutgers 2-1. The Spartans also defeated Cleveland State 1-0 and are now 5-0-0. 
 Mario Mastrangelo – Junior – Forward – St. Francis University Mastrangelo netted a hat trick to lead the Red Flash past Colgate 3-0. SJU improves to 3-3-0 year to date. 
Mamadou Guirassy – Senior – Forward – NJIT  Guirassy continues to come up with big plays for the Highlanders. He scored the lone goal in NJIT's 1-0 win over LIU Brooklyn and contributed two goals and an assist in their victory over St. Francis Brooklyn. The Highlanders improve to 5-0-1.  
Joh Gallagher – Senior – Forward – Notre Dame Gallagher found the back of the net three times to lead the Irish past Boston College 3-1. Notre Dame improves to 4-0-0.
Mikkel Pederson – Junior – Forward – Kentucky   Pederson played a key role on the offensive side of the ball for the Wildcats. He contributed a goal in Kentucky's 2-2 tie with Louisville and netted the game-winniwing goal in the Wildcat's 1-0 victory over UAB. 
Bradon Bye – Senior – Midfielder – Western Michigan Bye had a productive week of play contributing a goal in Western Michigan's 2-0 win over Cincinnati, their 3-2 win over Butler, and in their 2-1 victory over Drake. The Broncos improve to 5-0-1.  
Rollie Rocha – Senior – Midfielder – Tulsa  Rocha converted two penalty kicks to give Tulsa the edge they needed to upset Stanford 2-0. 
Matin Nygaard – Junior – Defender – Northeastern   Nygaard converted a penalty kick in the 108th minute of play to give Norheastern a solid 2-1 win over UMass Lowell before 2,000 fans at Parson's Field. 
Markus Fjortoft – Senior – Defender – Duke Fjortoft was part of a very solid Blue Devil defense that opened ACC play with a solid 3-1 win over Virginia Tech. Duke is now 4-0-1. 
Drake Callander – Sophomore – Goalkeeper – California Callander had a nine save evening including a big stop on a penalty kick to give the Golden Bears the edge they needed to upset Portland 2-1 in overtime.
