College Soccer News National Player Of The Week – Week Ending September 15, 2013

Joey Calistri – Sophomore – Forward – Northwestern –

Calistri had another extremely productive week of soccer for the Wildcats.  He netted a hat trick to lead Northwestern to a 4-0 win over Green Bay to record the first hat trick by a Northwestern player since the 2008 season.  He also scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in Northwestern's 2-0 win over Butler.  Calistri was the hands down choice for the Most Valuable Player of the NIU Tournament.

Northwestern head coach Tim Lenahan stated, "A great win for us, great to be champions of the NIU tournament.  I thought it was a really strong weekend for us, obvioulsy with Joey Calistri with four goals being the highlight."

The Wildcats have now won four in a row without allowing a goal after losing their season opener.  They next take to the pitch when they host Saint Mary's on Friday, September 20 and Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday September 22 in the Lakeside Classic.
