Kyle Holcomb – Junior – Forward – Wake Forest
Holcomb came through in the clutch for the Demon Deacons taking advantage of the opportunities that came his way with a two goal evening in Wake Forest’s 2-1 win over Kentucky in the Sweet Sixteen. Both goals were set up by passes from freshman defender Hosei Kijima. Holcomb has eight goals and two assists to date in the 2020-2021 season.
It was a total team effort for a Wake Forest team that is 13-2-2 overall and advances to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in the past six seasons under Bobby Muuss.
Wake Forest will face the University of North Carolina on Monday at 5 p.m. in Cary, North Carolina with a berth in the College Cup on the line.
