The Carolinas have been a hotbed for top college soccer talent, and this spring will be a celebration of that with many of the top teams in the region competing in the Carolina Cup. The competition will include 10 teams, five of which qualified for the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

Here is a list of the 10 teams participating and what to expect for this exciting spring tournament format:

  1. Campbell
  2. Duke
  3. High Point
  4. NC State
  5. South Carolina
  6. UNC
  7. UNCG
  8. UNCW
  9. Virginia Tech
  10. Wake Forest

Wake Forest will be the host site for the championship game, which will be determined by a point system after each team plays four games (two home and two away). This league play round will kick off in February.

There will also be a third, fifth, seventh, and ninth-place game so that all 10 participating teams get a full slate of five spring season games. All of these final games will be hosted at Wake Forest’s Spry Soccer Stadium on April 12.

The return of the Carolina Cup looks to be a great way to get competitive matches into the shortened spring season for these collegiate athletes, and ideally, similar concepts will follow more and more all over the country.
