 | Izzy D’Aquila – Senior – Forward – Santa Clara – D’Aquilla’s athletic ability and competitive drive was on full display when she placed a header into the side of the net after receiving a pass from midfielder Keren Goor with 26 seconds remaining in the second overtime period to give the Broncos the edge they needed to survive and advance with a 1-0 win over California. D’Aquila has 19 goals and 5 assists on the season. Santa Clara improves to 11-6-3 but things don’t get any easier for the Broncos who now travel to South Bend to tangle with Notre Dame on Friday. |
 | Penelope Hocking – Fifth Year – Forward – Penn State – The transfer from USC continues to be a difference maker for the Nittany Lions. She contributed a helper on the goals scored by Kate Wiesner and Payton Linnehan and skillfully placed a shot into the back of the frame that was set up by a nice pass from Jillian Jennings to help Penn State top a game Quinnipiac team 4-1 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Nittany Lions are now 14-4-3 and will host Big 12 Tournament champion West Virginia on Friday in what shapes up to be a very competitive second round matchup. |
 | Michelle Cooper – Sophomore – Forward – Duke – Cooper was on her game driving a rocket into the right corner of the frame from 24 yards out and converting a header out of a corner with an assist from Mackenzie Pluck in Duke’s 4-0 win over Radford. She also contributed an assist on forward Kat Rader’s goal in the win. Duke is now 13-4-3 and advances to the second round where they will host a very competitive Texas Longhorn team on Friday. |
 | Ava Seelenfreund – Senior – Forward – Brown – Seelenfreund came through in the clutch when she drove a header into the bottom right corner of the goal in the 81st minute of play after receiving a cross from Kira Maguire to give the Bears the big play they needed on the offensive side of the ball to top Rutgers 1-0. Seelenfreund’s goal and solid team play on the defensive side of the ball propelled Ivy League member Brown into the second round where they will face a UC Irvine team out of the Big West Conference that upset USC 2-0 in first round play. |
 | Justina Gaynor – Junior – Midfielder – Michigan State – Gaynor is a catalyst for Michigan State. She made a nice move off the dribble to create the space she need to send a bending ball into the back right corner of the net to open the scoring for the Spartans who slipped past a very competitive Milwaukee team out of the Horizon League 3-2 in double overtime. Midfielder Celia Gaynor also scored in regulation for Michigan State and forward Camryn Evan contributed the game-winner in the 105th minute of overtime. Michigan State improves to 17-2-3. The Spartans survive and advance to the second round where they face the challenge of going up against a very good TCU team. |
 | Jasmine Aikey – Freshman – Midfielder – Stanford – Aikey is a goal scorer with big play ability as reflected in the fact that she found the back of the net a total of four times with three of them coming in an action packed three minute span of time during the second stanza in Stanford’s 6-0 win over San Jose State in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament. Stanford is now 17-2-2 and will travel cross country to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to tangle with BYU in the second round of play on Thursday. BYU advanced by defeating Utah Valley 3-0 in the first round. |
 | Saorla Miller – Senior – Midfielder – Memphis – Miller deftly placed a shot between the netminders legs into the near post to give Memphis the lone goal they needed to pull off the upset of the first round with a 1-0 win over number two seeded Saint Louis. Senior forward Mya Jones contributed the helper on Miller’s game-winner. Memphis ups their record to 10-5-5 and moves to the second round where they will face Mississippi State in Fayetteville, Arkansas. |
 | Lauren Flynn – Junior – Defender – Florida State – A determined Flynn skillfully created the space and the angle she needed to drive a shot into the back of the net from inside the box in the 52nd minute of the match to score what proved to be the game-winning goal in FSU’s 3-0 win over Florida Gulf Coast. The Seminole center back was also a key ingredient in a solid FSU defensive effort. FSU improves to 14-2-3 and will seek to continue along the road to the College Cup when they host LSU on Friday. The Seminoles are 2-0-2 against SEC opponents so far this year. |
 | Jyllissa Harris – Fifth Year – Defender – South Carolina – Harris sent a bending ball out of a corner into the back of the net and was part of a solid Gamecock defense that shutout Wake Forest 2-0 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Durham, North Carolina where they will meet Harvard on Friday. South Carolina is 14-3-5 overall. |
 | Brenna Brosam – Sophomore – Defender – TCU – Brosam alertly collected a loose ball inside the box and placed it into the bottom corner of the goal. Her first goal of the year proved to be the game-winner in TCU’s 3-1 win over UTSA in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Brosam also put in a full 90 minute shift on the defensive side of the ball for the Horned Frogs. TCU improves to 13-4-5 and continues onward when they face Michigan State on Friday in South Bend, Indiana. |
 | Glo Hinojosa – Redshirt Junior – Goalkeeper – UC Irvine – Hinojosa had an eight save evening making the stops that she needed to make to give the Anteaters the opportunity to upset USC 2-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. UC Irvine is 11-5-6 and advances to the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday where they will face Brown in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. |
 | Caroline DeLisle – Redshirt Senior – Goalkeeper – UCF – DeLisle was a difference maker for UCF. She had an eight save evening including two crucial stops in a penalty kick shootout. The Knights advance past NC State in a match that came down to a penalty kick shootout after it was tied 1-1 at the conclusion of 110 minutes of play. UCF is 9-2-6 overall and will travel cross country to Los Angeles where they will face number one seeded UCLA on Friday. |
