Glo Hinojosa – Redshirt Junior – Goalkeeper – UC Irvine
Hinojosa had an eight save evening to anchor a tenacious UC Irvine defense along with a backline that included Maddy Chavez, Kiera Smeenge, Suus de Bakker and Alex Jaquez that shutout a highly regarded USC team 2-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Midfielder Destinee Manzo and forward Alyssa Moore scored to provide the punch UC Irvine needed on the offensive side of the ball.
Hinojosa has 11 shutouts on the season and 23 career shutouts.
The Anteaters who punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament by becoming the first number six seed to ever win the Big West Conference Tournament improve to 11-5-6. Hinojosa and her teammates will seek to keep what has become a magical season alive when they travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to face Brown out of the Ivy League on Friday.
