Lucas Meek – Redshirt Junior – Midfielder – Washington
Meek came through in the clutch for the Huskies in a 2-0 win over a very competitive Grand Canyon team. He opened up the match for Washington in the second half when he drove a header into the back of the net out of a play that began with a long throw-in. He also decisively lofted a shot over the head of the keeper from near the midfield mark that found its way into the right side of the net.
Washington is off to a good start with a 3-0-0 record that includes a 2-1 win over UC Davis, a 4-0 win over Cal State Fullerton and their most recent 2-0 win over Grand Canyon. The Huskies will host Dartmouth on Friday a 7 p.m. and then will take to the road to face Utah Valley, Seattle and Portland before beginning Pac-12 play.
