Aaron Edwards – Freshman – Forward – UCLA
Edwards’ first two collegiate goals could not have come at a better time. The Bruin freshman skillfully one-timed a shot into the back of the net from around the penalty spot after receiving a pass from redshirt freshman midfielder Tucker Lepley and decisively drove a header into the back of the net out of a corner kick served in by Lepley to give UCLA a hard fought 2-1 come from behind victory over non-conference foe Loyola Marymount University.
The Bruins gain momentum and display grit under the guidance of third-year head coach Ryan Jordan that they will seek to carry forward into upcoming Pac-12 contests on the road on Thursday against California and Sunday against Stanford.
UCLA is now 8-4-0 with a 3-2-0 mark against Pac-12 opponents.
