Alvaro Garcia-Pascual – Junior – Forward – Marshall
Garcia-Pascual and his Marshall teammates came into the Sun Belt Conference tournament needing wins over the two teams that they had lost to during regular season play to secure the conference tournament title. Garcia-Pascual played a key role in accomplishing that. He scored the Thundering Herds first goal in their semi-final 3-0 win over Kentucky and scored twice including the game-winning goal and provided the assist on teammate Aymane Sordo’s goal in Marshall’s subsequent 3-2 win over rival West Virginia in the championship contest before a record breaking and enthusiastic crowd at Hoops Family Field in Huntington, West Virginia.
A determined Marshall team improves to 17-2-0. The Thundering Herd will seek to continue their winning ways in the survive and advance environment of the upcoming 2023 NCAA Tournament.
