He also utilized his left foot to send a blast into the back of the frame in overtime to give Penn State the edge to secure a 1-0 win over Big Ten member Northwestern. Penn State improves to 4-1-0. |
| Alessandro Campoy – Redshirt Senior – Forward – FIU – Campoy scored with an assist from midfielder Stephen Afrifa and converted a penalty kick to help power the Panthers past UAB 4-0 in a CUSA matchup. FIU is 3-2-0 with a 2-1-0 mark in conference play. They have a key contest coming up on the road Saturday against Charlotte. |
| Gloire Amanda – Junior – Forward – Oregon State – Amanda earns another spot on the College Soccer News Team National Team of the Week with a two goal evening in Oregon State’s 5-0 win over San Diego State. Amanda has scored a total of eleven goals to date in the spring season. The Beavers host Washington on Wednesday, March 20 in a match that has huge implications in the Pac-12 race and on the national scene. |
| Justin Rasmussen – Senior – Midfielder – Grand Canyon – Rasmussen found the back of the net for the fourth game in a row for the Lopes and contributed the assist on teammate Marious Andreou’s goal to help Grand Canyon top California Baptist 3-1. GCU under the guidance of head coach Schellas Hyndman is off to a program best 5-0-0 record. |
| Dylan Teves – Junior – Midfielder – Washington – Teves came through in the clutch with the big play that Washington needed in order to prevail when he scored in the 85th minute of the match to give the Huskies a 1-0 win over Stanford in a huge Pac-12 Conference contest. Teves has scored a total of five goals to date. Washington is 7-1-0 with a huge Pac-12 contest coming up on Wednesday in Corvallis against Oregon State. |
| Alec Hughes – Freshman – Forward – Massachusetts – Hughes was a difference maker on the offensive side of the ball for the Minutemen. He scored the lone goal in their 1-1 tie with LaSalle and scored the first two goals to help power Massachusetts to a 5-2 victory over Rhode Island. |
| Boyd Curry – Sophomore – Defender – Saint Mary’s – Curry was a solid contributor on both sides of the ball for the Gaels. He converted a header in their 3-1 win over Santa Clara in a WCC contest and has been a key ingredient in a Saint Mary’s defense that has only allowed one goal to date. The Gaels are 4-0-1 overall with a 2-0-1 mark in conference action. |
| Hamady Diop – Freshman – Defender – Clemson – Diop decisively converted a penalty kick in the 87th minute of play after Callum Johnson was fouled in the box. Diop’s goal was the difference maker in Clemson’s 1-0 win over a determined NC State squad. Diop was also part of a solid Clemson defense. Clemson has another tough ACC matchup on Saturday when they travel to face Boston College. |
| Kyle Owen – Sophomore – Defender – Western Illinois – Owen came up big for Western Illinois when he controlled a loose ball in the box and sent it into the back of the frame to score what proved to be the game-winning goal in the Leathernecks 1-0 win over Oral Roberts. He was also part of a rock solid Western Illinois defense that shutout Oral Roberts 1-0 in a subsequent match in which forward Ryan DeBois provided the game-winning goal. |
| Chandler Hallwood – Redshirt Sophomore – Goalkeeper – Marquette – Hallwood came up with the big stops that he needed to make to enable Marquette to secure a 2-1 win over Xavier and a 2-1 win over Creighton in Big East competition. He had a seven save evening in the win over Creighton including several very difficult stops and a three save evening in the win over Creighton. The Golden Eagles are 5-1-1. |
