College Soccer News National Team Of The Week – Week Ending September 13, 2015

Timmy Mueller – Sophomore – Forward – Oregon State Mueller and his Oregon State teammates took to the road and picked up two good wins. Mueller contriubuted the game-winning goal in Oregon State's 3-2 win over Duquesne when he converted the rebound of his own missed penalty kick in the 89th minute of play.  He also scored on a pair of headers to lead the Beavers past Cornell 2-0. Freshman defender C.J. Brill contributed the assist on both headers. 
Fabian Herbers – Junior – Forward – Creighton Herbers earns a spot on the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for the second time so far this year. The opportunistic Bluejay striker continues to make good things happen for the undefeated Bluejays. This week he netted what proved to be the game-winning goal in the closing minute of the first half of play to enable the Bluejays to secure a hard fought 1-0 on the road win against a good Michigan State team. 
Brandon Allen – Senior – Forward – Georgetown  Allen assisted on teammate Arun Basuljevic's goal and one of teammate Brett Campbell's two goals in Georgetown's 3-1 win over UCLA. He also scored the Hoyas first two goals in their 5-2 victory over Radford and contributed a helper on one of teammate Alex Muyl's two goals. Georgetown secures two wins to improve to 2-2-1.  
Jaiden Fortune – Freshman – Forward – Elon Fortune scored twice to help power Elon past Davidson 4-0 to improve to 5-0-0 for the first time in the history of the program. HIs first goal was from within the box after receiving a cross from midfielder Eduardo Alvarez. HIs second goal came from the right side of the box off a double assist from James Brace and Myles Mansfield. Elon has a big game coming up on Tuesday when they tangle with Wake Forest in Winston-Salem.  
Bradley Farias – Sophomore – Forward – Campbell Farias scored or assisted on five of Campbell's six goals in the Belmont Invitational. He contributed two goals including the game-winner and an assist in Campbell's 3-2 win over Lipscomb and the game-winning goal and an assist in their victory over Belmont. For his effort he was named the MVP of the Tournament. The wins improve the Fighting Camels to 2-3-0 to date.  
Norberto Ochoa – Redshirt Senior – Forward – UC Riverside Ochoa found the back of the net three times to power UC Riverside past San Francisco 3-0. He recorded just the second hat trick in the Division I history of UCR. His first goal was a dandy just inside the near post from 15 yards out. His second was a bullet from inside the box. His final goal of the evening was a drive to the far post. The Highlanders also came from behind to shock UCLA 2-1 in o.t.    
Christopher Mueller – Sophomore – Midfielder – Wisconsin  Mueller's first career goal at Wisconsin was a big one. With just one second remaining in double overtime, Mueller sent a blast from around the top of the box that found its way into the back of the net to give the Badgers a hard fought and dramatic 1-0 win over Rutgers on the road in their 2015 Big Ten opener. Sophomore forward Tom Barlow contributed the assist on Mueller's game-winning goal.  
Richie Laryea – Sophomore – Midfielder – Akron Laryea assisted on Adam Najem's goal and scored twice to help Akron top Maryand 3-2 in College Park. He also contributed an assist on both of teammate Sam Gainford's two goals in Akron's come from behind 3-2 win over Saint Louis. Akron picks up two huge marquee wins improve to 4-1-0. The Zips have another tough one coming up when they host in-state rival Ohio State on Wednesday.   
Ben Fisher – Freshman – Midfielder – UNCW Fisher lead a tenacious UNCW offense netting two goals in a 5-0 victory over South Carolina before 1,227 fans at the UNCW Soccer Stadium. His first score came less than two minutes into the first half from inside the box after receiving a cross from Colin Bonner. His second goal was a bullet into the back of the net from twenty yards out. The Seahawks have won four straight to improve to 4-0-1. 
Mark Habrowski – Junior – Defender – Notre Dame For the third consecutive week a Notre Dame player has earned a spot on the CSN National Team of the Week. Habrowski and fellow center back sophomore Patrick Berneski were at the heart of a stout Fighting Irish defensive effort that shutout a very good Clemson team 1-0 in the season opening ACC contest for both teams. Habrowski's header out of a corner kick with an assist from Evan Panken proved to be the game winning goal. Notre Dame improves to 4-0-1. 
Luke Reed – Sophomore – Defender – NIU Read's header to the back post out of a corner kick served in by teammate Nicolas Wandl propelled NIU to a 1-0 victory over FAU. Read's half-volley from inside the six-yard box set up by a long throw in from freshman Adrian Coardos in the 88th minute proved to be the difference maker in NIU's 1-0 win over Stetson. The Huskies who have been rock solid on the defensive side of the ball continue to find a way to gut out wins and improve to 3-1-0. 
Caleb Duvernay – Sophomore – Defender – NC State  Duvernay who is from Cary, North Carolina alertly placed the golden goal inside the left post from close range in the 109th minute of play to give the Wolfpack the edge they needed to secure a hard fought 2-1 come from behind win over Boston College in their ACC season opener. He also assisted on teammate sophomore forward Ade Taiwo's goal. The Wolfpack improve to 4-1-0 overall. 
Matt Bersano – Redshirt Senior – Goalkeeper – Penn State  Bersano anchored a bend but don't break Nittany Lion defense along with a solid backline that shutout Indiana University 1-0 in the Third Annual Mack Brady Game at University Park. The contest was also the Big Ten opener for both schools. Bersano's key save of a penalty kick early in the contest was a huge difference maker in the outcome of the game. Penn State improves to 3-1-1 overall.
