| Bertin Jacquesson – Sophomore – Forward – Pittsburgh – Jacquesson was a key contributor in Pitt’s 4-0 win over non-conference foe Cleveland State and 3-2 win over Duke in a key ACC contest. He scored and contributed a helper on the goals scored by teammates Guilherme Feitosa and Michael Sullivan in the win over Cleveland State and scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in Pitt’s come from behind win over Duke. The Panthers are 8-3-0 with a 4-1-0 mark in conference play. Pitt returns to the pitch next Saturday when they travel to South Bend to face Notre Dame. |
| Jacob Labovitz – Senior – Forward – Virginia Tech – The Hokies and Louisville were scoreless at the conclusion of the first half of play but Labovitz got the Hokies attack in gear in the second stanza when he drove a header into the back of the frame in the 48th minute of the match after receiving a well played cross from Kyle McDowell. He followed that up with a shot into the top shelf of the net five minutes later after receiving a pass from Tyler Taber to give Virginia Tech a 2-0 advantage. The Hokies never relinquished the lead and earned a solid 4-2 conference win over the Cardinals. Virginia Tech improves to 7-1-3 with a 3-1-1 mark in conference play. The Hokies host Davidson on Tuesday and then resume ACC play on Saturday with a difficult contest on the road with Wake Forest. |
| Cameron Weller – Junior – Forward – Grand Canyon – Weller was an active part of a Grand Canyon offense blitz in which the Lopes topped WAC opponents Incarnate Word 6-0 and UT Rio Grand Valley 5-1. Weller contributed a goal and two assists in the win over Incarnate Word and netted a hat trick in the win over Grand Valley. Grand Canyon wins its eighth straight contest to improve to 10-1-0 with a 5-0-0 mark in WAC action. The Lopes will seek to keep their win streak intact when they travel to San Jose to tangle with San Jose State on Saturday. |
| Simon Becher – Junior – Forward – Saint Louis – Becher was a difference maker once again playing a key role in helping the Billikens secure on the road A-10 Conference wins over Saint Joseph’s 3-2 and VCU 4-1. He scored Saint Louis’ first goal and contributed the assist on defender Chandler Vaughn’s game winning goal in overtime in the contest with Saint Joseph’s. He also netted the Billikens first goal and provided the helper on midfielder Kevin Komodi’s goal in the game with VCU. SLU improves to 9-0-3 with a 5-0-0 mark in conference play. Saint Louis is unbeaten in their first twelve contests for the first time since back in 1971. |
| Chris Donovan – Senior – Forward – Drexel – Donovan was a scoring machine in Drexel’s 4-0 win over UMass Lowell. He slotted a shot into the top left corner of the net with an assist from Yassine Elkahloun, scored unassisted after making a nice move to create the angle and space he needed to finish, and completed his hat trick after receiving a pass from senior midfielder Kyle Tucker. Donovan has eight goals and two assists so far in the 2021 season. The Dragons are 5-4-1 with a 2-1-1 mark in CAA play. |
| Alberto Anaya – Freshman – Midfielder – Bowling Green – Anaya and his Bowling Green teammates had a productive week of play during which they defeated Georgia State 3-2 and Georgia Southern 4-0 in MAC competition. He provided a goal and assisted on the game-winning goal scored by teammate Jacob Erlandson in the win over Georgia State and scored in the win over Georgia Southern. BGSU improves to 9-2-1 with a 2-0-0 mark in MAC play. The Falcons have a challenging MAC contest coming up on the road on Saturday against Northern Illinois. |
| Tyler Bagley – Senior – Midfielder – Cornell – Bagley is a playmaker. He had a goal and three assist evening in an unlikely contest that had contrasting halves with Cornell dominating the first stanza with five goals and Harvard taking over with a four goal effort in the second stanza. Bagley assisted on the goals scored by Big Red teammates Emeka Eneli, Eisner Wilson, Ka Alioune and scored out of a free kick in the first half in Cornell’s 5-4 win over Harvard in Ivy League play. Cornell is 7-1-1 with a 2-0-0 mark in Ancient Eight competition. |
| Tucker Lepley – Redshirt Freshman – UCLA – Lepley came through in the clutch for the Bruins when he one-timed a left footed shot into the net in overtime to give UCLA the edge they needed to top a good San Diego State team 1-0. Lepley’s goal was set up by a turnover created by freshman forward Jose Contell and a nice pass from junior midfielder Riley Ferch. The Bruins rebound from back-to-back losses to secure a nice Pac-12 win. UCLA improves to 7-4-0 with a 3-2 mark in conference play. |
| Logan Bellone – Junior – Defender – Oral Roberts – Bellone scored and contributed a helper on the goal scored by Giovanni Herrera in Oral Roberts 4-1 win over a very good Central Arkansas team. He was also a key part of a stout bend but don’t break ORU backline along with junior Romula Bosqueiro that held Central Arkansas to only six shots on goal and that didn’t allow Western Illinois a shot on goal in a subsequent 1-0 win over the Leathernecks in Summit League play. ORU is 8-1-1 with a 2-0-1 mark in conference play. |
| Adrian Lara – Junior – Defender – NIU – Lara controlled a loose ball out of a corner kick and sent it back into the net and was part of a very solid Huskie defense that limited previously undefeated West Virginia to only three shots on goal in a big 2-0 shutout win over the Mountaineers. NIU has won nine straight to improve to 10-1-0 with a 2-0-0 mark in MAC play. |
| Joey Skinner – Freshman – Defender – UNCG – Skinner made an impact on both sides of the ball in UNCG’s 3-0 win over Furman in Southern Conference play. He contributed the assist on freshman midfielder J.C. Ngando’s goal and alertly sent a deflection back into the net in the win and was part of a solid UNCG defense that limited Furman to only four shots on goal in route to the shutout. The Spartans are 9-2-1 with a 3-0-0 mark in Southern Conference play. UNCG will continue conference play when they travel to Nashville on Saturday to face a good Belmont team that is 8-3-1 overall. |
| Matthew Rosenberg – Graduate Student – Goalkeeper – Xavier – Rosenberg anchored a solid Musketeer defense making the saves between the pipes that his team needed him to make to claim a 2-1 win on the road over Marquette and a 1-0 shutout win on the road over Seton Hall in Big East play. Xavier had a momentum building week improving to 8-4-0 overall with a 2-3-0 mark in Big East action. The Musketeers will continue Big East competition when they host Butler on Wednesday. |
