The Sun Belt continues to show its strength this year with multiple teams and players having a strong week. Washington’s Zach Ramsey is also on an absolute tear to start 2026.

Team of the Week
Old Dominion
Old Dominion won their seventh straight game to start 2026 and have compiled an impressive +20 goal differential during this non-conference winning streak. They beat UMBC 5-1 on Friday and then VCU 2-1 yesterday. Their leading goal scorer Lewis Rourke scored a brace against UMBC bringing his season tally up to nine goal contributions (6g/3a). Old Dominion’s Sun Belt opener against South Carolina, our Week 3 TOTW, on Friday is setting up to be a top matchup as both teams will enter the contest ranked.
Offensive Player of the Week
Zach Ramsey – Junior – Midfielder – Washington
Zach Ramsey was our Offensive Player of the Week for Week 1 and he hasn’t stopped scoring since. This past week, Ramsey and the Huskies hosted Penn State to open Big Ten conference play and he put up his third three-GC game of the season (2g/1a). It was also the midfielders fourth brace or better in his first six games. He is averaging more than two GCs per game (11g/2a) to start the year and the junior looks poised to break a record or two in 2026.
Defensive Player of the Week
Tate Lampman – Junior – Center back – Georgetown
Pacing with Ramsey this week Lampman had two goals and an assist this past week in a 5-1 win over High Point. This was after scoring against crosstown rivals Maryland. Lampman is having a career year as he has already broken his personal best goal (4) and goal contributions (5) for a season through seven games as the defender adds goals to his defensive responsibilities.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Andrew Samuels – Senior – Princeton
Andrew Samuels and Princeton have kept four straight clean sheets and this past week Samuels made six saves enroute to their 1-0 win against UAlbany. The veteran goalkeeper has now made 17 saves on the year and has a 94.4% save rate to go with his 4 CSs.
Freshman of the Week
Broden Beorlegui – Forward – Georgia Southern
Broden Beorlegui has been instrumental to Georgia Southern’s attack all season as he has contributed to the game-winning goal in all four of the Eagles’ wins to start 2026. This past week Beorlegui scored the winners against Stetson and Mercer bringing his season tally to five goals and one assist.
