Georgetown Midfielder Jacob Montes - College Soccer News National Player of the Week - Week Ending December 1, 2019

Jacob Montes Junior Midfielder Georgetown

Montes has been a difference maker all year for the Hoyas. He played a part in four of Georgetown's goals in their 5-1 win over Louisville in the Sweet Sixteen. He scored twice and assisted on two goals.

Montes has scored ten times and contributed five assists so far this year.

The Hoyas advance to the Elite Eight for the third time in the history of the progam and the first time since the 2014 season.  

Indiana Forward Victor Bezerra - College Soccer News National Player of the Week - Week Ending November 24, 2019

Victor Bezerra Freshman Forward Indiana 

Bezerra recorded Indiana's first hat trick since the 2012 season in the process of powering the Hoosiers past Kentucky in the second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. Bezerra has scored eight times and contributed three helpers so far this year.

Indiana out of the Big Ten and Kentucky out of Conference USA played to a scoreless draw when the two teams faced each other in regular season play.

Number five seed Indiana improves to 15-2-4 and advances to the Sweet Sixteen where they will host a hot UC Santa Barbara team out of the Big West Conference that advanced by by defeating California 3-1 and number twelve seed Saint Mary's 4-0.  

Farileigh Dickinson Goalkeeper Jahmali Waite - College Soccer News National Player of the Week - Week Ending November 17, 1019

Jahmali Waite Junior Goolkeeper Fairleigh Dickinson  

No player in the country had more of an impact on the success that his team achieved last week than Waite. Waite had a nine save week in goal in addition to five stops during two penaly kick shootouts. 

The FDU netminder was rock solid in goal for the number four seeded Knights in the NEC Tournament where FDU advanced past number past number one seed Saint Francis and number two seed LIU to win the championship.

The contest against Saint Francis was scoreless and the game against LIU was tied 1-1 at the end of 110 minutes of play. Both games had to be decided by a penalty kick shootout.

Waite had seven saves in regulation and overtime in the contest with Saint Francis and made three big saves during the shootout. In the championship contest with LIU he had two big saves in regulation and overtime and two key stops in the penalty kick shootout after his teammates converted their first three attempts.  

FDU head coach Seth Roland stated, "I'm in awe of the way these guys managed to turn things around in the last couple of week and win the NEC Championship trophy and a berth into the NCAA Tourrnament. I'm so excited for them, and they deserve the trophy." 

Waite and his FDU teammates travel to face the Univeristy of New Hampshire on Thursday, Novebmer 21 in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. 

Bradley Forward Gerit Wintermeyer - College Soccer News National Player of the Week - Week Ending November 10, 2019

Gerit Wintermeyer Junior Forward Bradley

Wintermeyer came up big for the Braves in two contests last week. He skillfully threaded a shot into the back of the net under pressure in the final minute of regularion after receiving a pass from teammate Rasmus Smidtslund to give Bradley a 2-1 win over Western Ilinois.

He also converted a penalty kick and made the run he needed to make to be in position to net  the game-winning goal after receiving a pass from Jack Lang in Bradley's 2-1 win over Evansville in a Missouri Valley Conference contest.

Wintermeyer has seven goals so far this year and has become the ninth Bradley player in program history to total twenty career goals.

The number three seed Braves will face number six seed Evansville in the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament on Wednesday in Chicago.
