Achara Senior Forward Georgetown

Achara returned from injury and immediately made an impact with a three goal week.

He contributed a goal in Georgetown's 2-0 win over Lehigh on Tuesday and followed that up with a two goal evening on Friday in a 2-0 win over Seton Hall.

Georgetown improves to 9-1-1 with a 3-0-1 mark in Big East Conference play.

Achara and his Hoyas teammates have a tough contest Monday night when they travel to College Park to tangle with Maryland out of the Big Ten Conference.  

 

Washington Midfielder Blake Bodily - College Soccer News National Player of the Week - Week Ending October 6, 2019

Blake Bodily Junior Midfielder  Washington

No team had a more productive week than Washington. Bodily who hails from Eagle, Idaho was a difference maker who played a key role in helping the Huskies claim two crucial on the road Pac-12 wins. Bodily made a nice move down the right side to create the space that he needed to nail a picture perfect cross which teammate Lucas Meek skillfully headed into the back of the net in overtime to give Washington a 2-1 win over Stanford. Bodily also alertly controlled and drove a rebound into the back of the frame to give the Huskies the edge they needed to top California 1-0. 

Washington has won six straight to up their record to 10-1-0 with a 4-0-0 mark in conference play. The Huskies return to the pitch next Sunday when they host a dangerous Oregon State team.

 

Lehigh Forward Josh Luchini - College Soccer News National Player of the Week - Week Ending September 29, 2019

Josh Luchini Sophomore Forward Lehigh

Luchini scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with an assist from teammate Michael Tahiru in Lehigh's 2-1 on the road win over Penn. He then followed that up with an impressive three goal evening to power the Mountain Hawks past Boston University 4-2.

Luchini has scored a total of eight goals so far this year. 

Lehigh has won three straight to improve to 6-2-0. The Mountain Hawks will seek to keep their win streak alive when they travel to face Colgate on Wednesday and host Army on Saturday. 

 

 

 

James Madison Midfielder Manuel Ferriol - College Soccer News National Player of the Week - Week Ending September 22, 2019

Manuel Ferriol Senior Midfielder James Madison

Ferriol scored the game-winning goal out of a free kick from just outside the box to give James Madison the edge they needed to upset Wake Forest 1-0. He then followed that performance up with a three goal evening to power JMU past Mount Saint Mary's 3-0.   

Ferriol has a total of eight goals so far this year and is among the reasons why James Madison has won five straight contests to improve to 5-2-0 after beginning the season with two losses.   

JMU travels to face Longwood on Tuesday and then hosts CAA foe Drexel on Saturday.
