College Soccer News - National Team of the Week - Week Ending October 29, 2017

Stuart Holthusen - Senior - Forward - Akron Holthusen netted a hat trick to propel Akron past MAC foe West Virginia 4-0. He also contributed the helper on one of teammate Nick Hinds' two goals in Akron's 3-0 win over Pittsburgh. The Zips are 12-3-1 with a 3-1-0 mark in conference play. 
Frantzdy Pierrot - Senior - Forward - Coastal Carolina  Pierrot assisted on teammate Romario Piggott's goal in the Chanticleer's 1-1 tie with William and Mary and found the back of the net three times to power CCU past Appalachian State 4-0. The Chanticleers are 8-6-1 overall with a 2-1 mark in Sun Belt play.  
Davis Smith - Freshman - Forward - Massachusetts Smith converted a header off an assist from midfielder Alex DeSantis and contributed the assist on teammate Matthew Mooney's goal as Massachusett's topped George Mason 4-1 to improve to 12-2-3 overall. Davis has scored nine goals to date.  
Antonio Lokossou - Junior - Forward - UC Riverside Lokossou netted the game-winning goal with a double assist from Vincent Morales and Anthony Lopez to give the Highlanders a 2-1 come from behind win over UC Irvine. He also netted the game-winner in UC Riverside's 2-1 win over CSUN. The Highlanders earn a berth in the Big West Conference Tourney. 
Daniel Wright - Freshman - Forward - Duke Wright and his Blue Devil teammates had a productive week of play topping Delaware 2-1 and Virginia 1-0. Wright contributed a goal in the win over Delaware and netted the lone goal in Duke's win over the Cavaliers. Duke continues a banner season with a 12-3-2 overall record and a 4-3-1 mark in ACC play.  
Matt Danilack - Senior - Midfielder - Dartmouth Danilack's bicycle kick in the last minute of regulation game the Big Green the edge they needed to defeat Harvard 1-0. Midfielder Justin Donawa was credited with the assist on the game-winner. Dartmouth improves to 10-3-1 overall with a 4-0-1 mark in the Ancient Eight. 
Rafael Andrade Santos - Senior - Midfielder - VCU Santos sent a rocket into the back of the net from thirty yards out and placed a shot into the back of the frame from from five yards out to play a key role in VCU's 3-0 win over Maryland. He also scored and assisted on Francesco Amorosino's goal to help VCU top Rhode Island 2-1. The Rams are 10-4-0 overall with a 6-1-0 mark in A-10 play.  
Audi Jepson - RS Senior - Midfielder - Green Bay Jepson scored from eight yards out with Tomer Zloczower providing the assist to help the Phoenix top IUPUI 2-0. He also contributed the game-winning goal with a double assist from Cody Newton and Marcos Bautista in Green Bay's 1-0 win over Belmont. The Phoenix are 7-4-3 with a 6-1-1 mark in Horizon League play. 
Quinn English - Senior - Midfielder - Brown English was a factor in Brown's 1-0 win over UMass Lowell and 2-1 win over Ivy League foe Penn. He contributed the assist on teammate Toby Howell game-winner in the contest with UMass Lowell and scored and assisted on Nico Lozada's goal in overtime in the win over Penn. Brown is 8-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in Ivy League play. 
Daivd Enstrom - Senior - Defender - St. John's  Enstrom's header with a double assist from teammates Alistair Johnston and Harry Cooksley proved to be the difference maker in St. John's 1-0 win over Georgetown in a key Big East Conference contest. The Red Storm also topped Big East foe Villanoa 2-1 behind a two-goal evening from Filippo Ricupati.    
Eric Dick - RS Senior - Goalkeeper - Butler Dick had a solid five save evening in goal in Butler's 2-0 shutout of Seton Hall in a Big East Contest. He followed that up with an eight save evening in Butler's 2-1 win over Marquette in Milwaukee. The Bulldogs improve to 11-4-1 overall and claim the Big East Conference Regular Season Title with a 7-1-0 mark in conference play. 

College Soccer News - National Team of the Week - Week Ending October 22, 2017

Robin Schmidt - GS - Forward - New Hampshire Schmidt scored twice to help the Wildcats come from behind to defeat Dartmouth 4-2.  He also netted both of New Hampshires' goals in their 2-0 win over America East Conference foe Stony Brook. Schmidt has found the back of the net a total of six times so far this year. The Wildcats win their fifth straight contest to improve to 11-1-3 overall.  
Jonathan Bolanos - Sophomore - Forward - High Point  Bolanos continues to provide offensive firepower for the Panthers netting his fifth goal for HPU in their last two contests. This week he made a nice move in the box to create the space and angle he needed to skillfully place a shot into the back of the frame in High Point's 3-1 win over Gardner-Webb in a Big South Conference match. HPU improves to 6-5-2 with a 4-1-0 mark in conference play. 
Garrett McLaughlin - Sophomore - Forward - SMU The Mustang striker from Oklahama City had a very productive week scoring twice in SMU's 2-0 win over Oral Roberts as well as both of the Mustang's goals in their 2-0 on the road victory over Cincinnati. SMU has now won six straight to up their record to 12-2-0 overall with a 4-1-0 mark in American Athletic Conference competition.  
Cal Jennings - Sophomore - Forward - UCF Jennings came up big for the Knights playing a key role in their 3-2 win over Connecticut at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. The win was the first on the road victory for UCF since 2012. Freshman Hattabiou Barry assisted on Jennings' first goal. Jennings' second goal was a header in the box set up by a cross from teammate Ricardo Oliveros. UCF is 4-5-2 overall with a 2-2-1 record in American Athletic Conference action.   
Foster Langsdorf - Senior - Forward - Stanford Langsdorf converted a header out of a free kick with a double assist from Sam Werner and Tomas Hilliard-Arce to net what proved to be the game-winning goal in Stanford's 2-1 win over Washington in Seattle. He also scored Stanford's first goal after receiving a back-heeled pass from Amir Bashti to help the Cardinal top Oregon State in Corvallis 3-0. Stanford improves to 12-2-1 with a 6-0-1 mark in Pac-12 play. 
Tucker Bone - Junior - Midfielder - Air Force Bone is a difference maker. He contributed a goal and assisted on Danny Han's goal in Air Force's 3-0 win over UNLV.  He also scored and contributed two helpers to play a key role in Air Force's 3-1 come from behind win over Grand Canyon. The Falcons soar to a 11-1-3 overall record with a 5-0-2 mark in WAC play. 
Brandon Bye - Senior - Midfielder - Western Michigan Bye continues to light up the back of the net for Western Michigan. This week he scored twice in the Broncs 3-0 win over Green Bay. He also scored in the 96th minute of play to give Western Michigan the edge they needed to top West Virginia 1-0 on the road. The Broncos improve to 13-2-1 overall with a 3-0-0 mark in Mid-American Conference action. Bye has netted eleven goals so far this season.  
Victor Valls - RS Sophomore - Midfielder - Radford  Valls contributed the assist on teammate Sivert Daehlie's game-winning goal in Radford's 1-0 win over Virginia in Charlottesville. He also scored twice with Daehlie assisting on both goals to help power the Highlanders past Winthrop 2-0. Radford has now won three consecutive contests to improve to 9-4-2. 
Cam Lindley - Sophomore - Midfielder - North Carolina Lindley is a playmaker who makes good things happen. This week he assisted on one of freshman Lucas del Rosario's two goals in UNC's 2-1 come from behind win over Old Dominion. He also contributed a helper on Zach Wright's goal and netted a goal with an assist from Jelani Pieters to help the Tar Heels top Virginia Tech 4-0.  Lindley has seven goals and ten assists so far this year.  UNC improves to 13-2-1 with a 5-1-1 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play.  
Jacob Bohm - Freshman - Defender - Fordham Bohm continues to come up with big plays for Fordham. He has now contrituted a goal in three out of Fordham's last five games. This week he sent a bullet into the top left corner of the frame to get Fordham on the scoreboard in their 2-0 shutout over Rhode Island in a key Atlantic 10 contest. Jannik Loebe scored the second Fordham goal of the evening. The Rams are now 10-3-2 overall with a 4-1-1 mark in Atlantic 10 action.  
Michael Pimlott - Sophomore - Defender - Michigan State  Pimlott's first career goal was a rocket into the back of the frame from the top of the box that proved to be the game-winner in Michigan State's 2-0 victory over Northwestern on the road.  He was also part of a solid Spartan defensive anchored by goalkeeper Jimmy Hague that shutout Northwestern to record its tenth clean sheet of the season.  Michigan State improves to 11-2-2 with a 5-0-2 mark in Big Ten play.   
JT Marcinkowski - Junior - Goalkeeper - Georgetown The Hoya team captain had eight saves between the pipes including several key stops to anchor a Georgetown defense that shutout Maryland 1-0. Freshman midfielder Jacob Montes netted the game-winning goal for the Hoyas. Marcinkowski also had a solid five save evening to help Georgetown shutout Seton Hall 3-0 in a Big East Conference contest. Georgetown improves to 11-2-1 overall with a 4-1-0 record in conference play. 

 

College Soccer News - National Team of the Week - Week Ending October 15, 2017

Diego Campos - Senior - Forward - Clemson Campos, who hails from San Jose, Costa Rica, is a prime timer. The Tiger forward powered the Clemson attack with a three goal evening in a 4-1 win on the road over a good Duke team. His first goal was a well placed shot from twelve yards out after receiving a cross from Oliver Shannon. His second goal was a strike into the lower left corner of the frame with a double assist from Alexander Hemmingsen and Jason Wright. Campos' third goal was a put back off a deflection from teammate Wright's shot. 
Jon Bakero - Senior - Forward - Wake Forest Bakero is an impact player. He converted a penalty kick and drove a header into the back of the net with an assist from Luis Argudo and contributed an assist in Wake Forest's goal-a-rama 8-0 win over Longwood. Bakero followed that up with a two goal performance to help the Demon Deacons top Virginia Tech 3-0. His first goal against the Hokies was a blast from twenty yards out. His second score was placed into the right side of the frame from the top of the box. Wake Forest has now won ten straight to improve to 13-1-0 with a 6-0-0 mark in ACC action.  
Mauro Cichero - Senior - Forward - SMU Cichero is an explosive finisher. He scored twice within a span of two minutes to lead the Mustangs past Northeastern 6-0.  He also came up big for SMU when he found the back of the net in the 103rd minute of play from twenty-five yards out with a double assist from teammates Talen Maples and Colten Habecker to give the Mustangs the edge they needed to slip past Memphis 1-0. SMU improves to 10-2-0 overall with a 3-1-0 mark in American Athletic Conference competition. 
Ricky Lopez-Espin - Senior - Forward - Creighton Lopez-Espin contributed a goal in Creighton's 6-1 thumping of Drake.  He also found the back of the net twice as a potent Creighton attack toped Xavier 4-1. Lopez-Espin has scored nine goals to date and contributed two helpers. Creighton gains momentum and improves to 8-4-1 overall with a 2-2-1 record in Big East play. 
Eryk Williamson - Junior - Midfielder - Maryland Williamson lit up the back of the net in the second half of play scoring three times to lead the Terps to a 5-4 win over Wisconsin. Jake Rozhansky contriubted the assist on Williamson's first goal. His second goal was a picture perfect chip shot from twenty-five yards out. The third goal came after a nice pass from Amar Sejdic and a one on one move in the box that created the space Williamson needed to slot the ball into the back of the frame.  
Jose Carrera-Garcia - RS Senior - Midfielder - California Carrera-Garcia contributed the helper on the goals scored by teammates Samuel Ebstein and Simon Lekressner in California's 2-0 win over Oregon State.  He also scored the gam-winning goal out of a free kick from just outside the box to give the Golden Bears the edge they needed to upset Washington 2-1. California improves to 9-3-0 with a 4-1-0 mark in Pac-12 play. 
Daniel Trejo - Freshman - Forward - CSUN Trejo skillfully chested and then sent a shot into the back of the net after receiving a ball from Jumoke Hutton to give the Matadors a 1-0 lead over UC Irvine. He also scored from just outside the box to play a key role in CSUN's 3-2 win over the Anteaters. Trejo has scored a total of six goals to date. The Matadors also tied Cal State Fulerton 0-0 earlier in the week to stand at 7-6-2 overall with a 2-2-2 mark in a closely contested Big West Conference race. 
Martin Melchor - Senior - Midfielder - Coastal Carolina  Melchor was hot from the get-go scoring the first of his three goals in Coastal Carolina's 5-2 upset win over Old Dominion a little over a minute into the contest. His second goal was a blast from twenty yards out.  Melchor's third goal came out of a breakaway with Frantzdy Pierrot setting up the score. The Chanticleers up their record to 6-6-0.  
Skye Harter - RS Sophomore - Midfielder - Akron  Harter took advantage of a defensive miscue fifty-two seconds into Akron's contest with Cleveland State to net his first goal of the year.  The Zips went on to top the Vikings 2-0. Halter followed that contest up with a three assist evening to help Akron top SIU Edwardsville 3-1. Akron rebounded  after a 1-0 loss to Western Michigan last week to pick up two wins to improve to 8-3-1 with a 1-1-1 mark in MAC play. 
Chase Rhode - Senior - Defender - UC Davis  Rhode was part of a rock solid and well organized Aggie defense that shutout UC Santa Barbara 3-0 and Sacramento State 2-0 in Big West Conference play. UC Davis improves to 7-6-2 overall with a 4-1-1 mark in conference play.  
Tomas Hilliard-Arce - Senior - Defender - Stanford The Cardinal center back is a competitor who contributed on both sides of the ball for Stanford in their 1-1 tie with Washington and 1-0 win over Oregon State. Hilliard-Arce assisted on Drew Skundrich's goal in the contest with Washington and his header proved to be the game-winning goal in Stanford's 1-0 win over Oregon State. The Cardinal improve to 10-2-1 overall with a 4-0-1 mark in Pac-12 action.  
Paul Marie - Senior - Defender - FIU Marie netted FIU's first goal after receiving a cross from Santiago Patino in their come from behind 4-3 win over FGCU.  He also scored twice and assited on teammate Jordan Machado's goal in FIU's impressive 5-2 on the road win over South Carolina. The Panthers improve to 8-0-3 overall with a 4-0-1 mark in CUSA play.  
Trey Muse - Freshman - Goalkeeper - Indiana Muse has been taking care of business between the pipes for a tenacious Indiana defense that has recorded eight straight shutouts with a total of twelve to date. He had a career high six stop evening to help the Hoosiers shutout Kentucky 2-0. Timmy Mehl and Rashad Hyacenth contributed the goals. Indiana also shutout Ohio State 2-0 with freshman Mason Toye netting both scores. The Hoosiers continue to roll with a 12-0-2 overall record and a 4-0-2 mark in Big Ten play. 

 

College Soccer News - National Team of the Week - Week Ending October 8, 2017

JJ Donnelly - Junior - Forward - Campbell Donnelly scored the lone goal in Campbell's 1-0 victory over High Point. He also scored twice to power Campbell past Winthrop 2-1. In the win over Winthrop, he placed a shot into the left side of the frame from just inside the box after receiving a through ball from Ian Rees and scored from around the penalty spot with a double assist from Humberto Chavez and Josh Hughes. Donnelly has found the back of the net eight times so far this year. Campbell is now 7-4-1 overall with a 3-1-0 mark in Big South Conference play. 
Jon Gallagher - Senior - Forward - Notre Dame Gallagher played a key role in Notre Dame's 2-1 win over ACC foe Clemson. He scored from eight yards out after benefiting from a  combination of passes from Blake Townes and Jeff Farina. Gallagher also contributed the helper on forward Jeff Farina's goal. He also came up big for the Irish in their 2-1 win over Northwestern. In that contest, Gallagher sent a header into the back of the net in overtime to secure the victory after receiving a cross from Sean Dedrick. Jack Casey also assisted on the goal. Notre Dame is 9-2-1. . 
Santiago Patino - Junior - Forward - FIU Patino earns back-to-back appearances on the CSN National Team of the Week after netting a hat trick to power the Panthers past Marshall 4-0. His first score was from from just outside the penalty box, the second was from twenty yards out, and the third was a shot into the left corner of the goal out of a breakaway. FIU improves to 6-0-3 with a 3-0-1 record in CUSA competition. 
Chris Mueller - Senior - Forward - Wisconsin Mueller scored and provided a helper on the goals scored by Tom Barlow and Elan Koenig in Wisconsin's 3-0 win over Marquette. He also alertly sent the deflection of Barlow's shot into the back of the net in Wisconsin's 1-1 tie with Michigan State.  The Badgers up their record to 7-2-3 overall with a 3-1-3 mark against Big Ten Conference opponents. . 
DeClan McCabe - Senior - Midfielder - Georgetown McCabe scored Georgetown's first goal and contributed a helper on the goals of teammates Acuhara and Derek Dodson to play a key role in the Hoyas 3-0 win over Butler in a key Big East Conference contest. Georgetown improves to 8-1-1 with a 3-1-0 mark in conference action. 
David Lozano - Junior - Midfielder - UNCW Lozano converted a penalty kick in UNCW's 3-1 non-conference win over Coastal Carolina. He also netted a header with a double assist from Kalvin Kromer and Phillip Goodrum and scored unassisted to help the Seahawks top Drexel 3-0 in a Colonial Athletic Association contest. UNCW improves to 9-2-0 with a 4 mark in conference competition.   
Luc Fatton - RS Senior - Midfielder - VCU Fatton helped VCU secure solid Atlantic 10 Conference wins over Davidson 4-1 and pre-season favorite Fordham 1-0. Fatton was at the heart of the VCU attack producing three goals in the win over Davidson. Fatton and his VCU teammates look to be gaining momentum as they improve to 5-3-0 overall with a 2-0-0 mark in conference play. .  
Jamie Carey-Morrell - Senior - Defender - CSUB Carey-Morrell scored and contributed an assist out of a free kick on teammate Jeremie Charron's goal in CSUB's 3-2 win over Grand Canyon. He also was part of a bend but don't break CSUB defense that shutout UNLV 1-0. The Roadrunners have won three straight to improve to 5-6-0 overall with a 3-1-0 in the Western Athletic Conference.   
Simon Blotko - Junior - Defender - NC State The Wolfpack team captain contributed on both sides of the ball in a 3-0 non-conference win over Belmont and a 2-1 on the road ACC win over Syracuse. Blotko provided helpers on the goals scored by teammates Tanner Roberts and Ade Taiwo in the match with Belmont. He also was part of a solid Wolfpack defensive effort in both contests.  
Sergi Nus - Junior - Defender - Virginia  Nus has been an impact player for the Cavaliers. His bending shot around the Boston College wall out of a free kick proved to be the game-winner in Virginia's 1-0 win over Boston College in ACC play. The goal was Nus' fifth of the season to date. Virginia also topped non-conference foe Portlant 2-1 in overtime with Edward Opoku providing the golden goal in that contest. Virginia is now 8-1-2 overall with a 2-1-2 record in ACC action. 
Liam Priestley - Senior - Goalkeeper - Missouri State Priestley recorded his seventh and eighth shutouts of the year to date for the Bears. He had eight saves including a crucial stop of a penalty kick in a 1-0 win over Oral Roberts. He also made the stops that he needed to make to enable Missouri State to shutout Bradley 1-0. The Bears have recorded six consecutive shutouts and are now 8-2-1 overall with a 4-0-0 mark in Missouri Valley Conference play.
