College Soccer News National Team Of The Week - Week Ending September 27, 2015

Ethan Kutler - Junior - Forward - Colgate Kutler scored twice in the second half of play to help Colgate come from behind to top nationally ranked American and to pick up a big win in Patriot League play. He converted a penalty kick after being fouled in the box and netted the game-winning goal in the last minute of regulation when he gathered a loose ball and made a strong move off the dribble to maintain his footing before blasting a shot cleanly into the lower right side of the goal. Colgate ups their record to 4-2-1 with a 1-0-0 mark in league play. 
Ben Polk - Junior - Forward - Syracuse  Polk who transferred to Syracuse from Herkimer College posted a hat trick and assited on teammate Noah Rhynhart's goal to power the Orange past Pittsburgh 5-0. Polk's first score was a shot placed into the right corner of the goal after receiving a cross from Oyvind Alseth. His second score was a volley from within the box into the top right corner of the frame with an assist from Liam Callahan. His third shot was an unassisted left footer from within the box. Syracuse also topped Binghamton 3-1 to up their record to 5-2-1. 
Alejandro Garcia - Senior - Midfielder - Cincinnati Garcia scored from twelve yards out with an assist from Adam Wilson and utilized his left foot to net the game-winning goal from inside the box with a double assist from Jonny Williams and John Manga to give Cincinnati the edge they needed to upset Temple 2-1 in an American Athletic Conference contest. The Bearcats improve to 5-4-0 overall with a 1-0-0 mark in conference play. 
Danny Deakin - Junior - Midfielder - South Carolina No team in the country had a more productive week than South Carolina. Deakin scored two second half goals to help power the Gamecocks past previously undefeated Elon 3-1. His first goal was a beauty out of a free kick. His second score came from eight yards out after receiving a chip pass from teammate Kurtis Turner. South Carolina also topped New Mexico 2-1 in overtime with Jeffrey Torda netting the game winning goal in that one. The Gamecocks improve to 5-2-1.  
Zeiko Lewis - Junior - Midfielder - Boston College  Lewis took advantage of a turnover to score out of a breakaway and also scored from the top of the box to lead Boston College past Connecticut 3-1. He also assisted on teammate Trevor Davock's goal. He added another assist on Abe Bibas' goal out of a free kick in the Eagle's 4-1 ACC win over Virginia Tech. Boston College wins its third consecutive game to improve to 6-2-0. 
Sergio Camargo - Junior - Midfielder - Coastal Carolina  Camargo and his Coastal Carolina teammates continue to roll. Camargo, who hails from Cucuta, Columbia, took advantage of a defensive miscue to score on a breakaway and also drove the rebound of a missed shot into the back of the net to lead the Chanticleers in a 3-1 win over UAB. He also contributed an assist on one of teammate Bryce Follensbee's two goals in Coastal's 4-0 win over Gardner-Webb in a Big South contest. Coastal Carolina improves to 6-0-1.  
Vincent Mitchell - Senior - Midfielder - Butler Mitchell has scored six goals to date with five of them coming in Butler's last three contests. He scored twice to lead the Bulldogs past Villanova 3-0 in a Big East Conference match. His first goal was from six yards out after it was set up by a nice combination of passes with fellow Bulldog Eric Leonard. HIs second goal was a blast from ten yards out with an assist from A.R. Smith. Butler improves to 4-0-3. 
Colin Stripling - Junior - Midfielder - Monmouth Stripling scored twice out of free kicks in Monmouth's 4-1 win over Seton Hall. He also placed the rebound of teammate Danny Figarella's shot into the back of the net from eight yards out to help the Hawks secure a 2-0 on the road win over Canisius in a MAAC contest. Monmouth improves to 5-3-1 with a 1-0-0 mark in MAAC play. 
Kyle Bjornethun - Junior - Defender - Seattle  The Redhawks picked up two wins over ranked teams this week topping Washington 2-1 and Oregon State 2-1. Bjornethun scored two goals within a two minute span to enable Seattle to secure a come from behind win over Oregon State. The first came after a scramble within the box and the game-winner was a header after receiving a cross from Michael Roberts. Seattle improves to 7-2-0.
Cyril Coisne - Senior - Defender - St. Francis Brooklyn  Coisne was part of a stout Terrier defense and came through in the clutch by converting penalty kicks that proved to be the game-winning goals in a 2-0 win over the University of Rhode Island and a 1-0 victory over the University of Albany. St. Francis Brooklyn remains undefeated year to date with a 7-0-2 overall record.  
Nico Campbell - Junior - Goalkeeper - Valparaiso Campbell anchored a tenacious Crusader defensive effort that shutout Western Michigan 2-0 and Horizon League foe Cleveland State 1-0 to capture two solid wins. He had four save evening in the win over Western Michigan and two saves in the contest with Cleveland State. Valpo improves to 4-2-2.
