College Soccer News National Player Of The Week - Delaware Forward Guillermo Delgado - Week Ending August 28, 2016

Guillermo Delgado Senior Forward  Delaware 





The multi-year All-American netted two goals and added and assist in Delaware's 3-0 on the road win over Bucknell on Friday night. Delgado contributed the assist on teammate Dani Laguna's goal and converted two headers in the win over Bucknell. He also scored the lone goal in Delaware's 1-0 win at home over Fordham when he intercepted a pass in the box and drove it into the net from ten yards out.

The Blue Hens will seek to extend their win streak when they host Iona on Wednesday and Villanova on Sunday at Stuart and Suzanne Grant Stadium. 

College Soccer News National Player Of The Week, Jordan Morris, Stanford - Week Ending November 29, 2015

Jordan Morris - Junior - Forward - Stanford 

Morris played a key role in Stanford's 3-1 win over a very tenacious and talented Ohio State Buckeye team to advance to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. Morris scored his ninth and tenth goals of the season in the contest. Morris netted the first goal for the Cardinal after a nice combination of passes with teammate Eric Verso chipping the ball forward to Morris who then dispatched it into the back of the net. Morris' second goal which proved to be the game-winner resulted when teammate freshman Amir Bashti made a nice move in tight space to create the angle he needed to send a back heeled pass to Morris which Morris then bent into the back of the goal.  

Next up for Stanford is a cross country trip and a date with number one seeded Wake Forest in the Elite Eight on Saturday with a trip to the College Cup on the line. 

College Soccer News National Player Of The Week - Simon Enstrom, Boston College - Week Ending November 22, 2015

Simon Enstrom - Freshman - Forward - Boston College 

Enstrom who is from Huddinge, Sweden came up with two huge goals this week for the Eagles. He scored the lone goal of the contest in Boston College's 1-0 win over Vermont in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. He also drove a shot into the lower left corner of the goal in overtime to give the Eagles the edge they needed to top number fourteen seeded South Florida 2-1 to survive and advance to the Sweet Sixteen.  Enstrom has scored a total of nine goals so far this year.

Boston College improves to 11-7-1.  

The Eagles will seek to continue to advance in the NCAA Tournament but things don't get any easier for Enstrom and his Boston College teammates who now face number three seeded Georgetown in Washington. 


College Soccer News National Player Of The Week - Ben Polk, Syracuse - Week Ending November 15, 2015

Ben Polk - Junior - Forward - Syracuse 

Polk and his Syracuse teammates had a great run to win the ACC Tournament Championship defeating N.C. State 2-0 at home then advancing past North Carolina in a penalty kick shootout after the score was tied 1-1, defeating Clemson 2-0 and Notre Dame 1-0 on the road.

This week Polk scored both goals for the Orange in their huge 2-0 win over Clemson with teammates Louis Cross and Noah Rynhart providing the assists. He also scored the lone goal in the 1-0 win over Notre Dame with an assist from Julian Buescher. For his efforts Polk was named the Tournament Most Valuable Player and teammates Julian Buescher, Miles Robinson and Hendrik Hilpert joined him on the All-Tournament Team.

Syracuse improves to 13-5-3 overall and has earned the ACC's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.  The Orange and the rest of the country will learn what lies in front of them on the road to the College Cup when the 2015 NCAA Tournament seeds and the brackets will be announced on Monday, November 16 at 1 p.m. on
