College Soccer News - National Player of the Week - North Carolina Forward Alan Winn - Week Ending September 17, 2017

Alan Winn Senior Forward North Carolina 

Winn has been a force for the Tar Heels since returning to the pitch after missing the first three contests of the season due to injury. This week he scored twice including the game-winning goal in UNC's 3-2 win over William and Mary. He also contributed a goal to help the Tar Helps top rival Duke 2-1.

Winn has netted four goals in four games.

The Tar Heels will face George Washington on Tuesday and travel to Charlottesville to tangle with Virginia on Friday in a key Atlantic Coast Conference contest.

 

College Soccer News - National Player of the Week - Western Michigan Midfielder Brandon Bye - Week Ending September 10, 2017

Brandon Bye Senior Midfielder Western Michigan

Bye contributed a goal in three different contests last week as Western Michigan topped Cincinnati 2-0, Butler 3-2 and Drake 2-1 to improve to 5-0-1. 

The Broncos travel to face Oakland on Wednesday. 

 

College Soccer News - National Player of the Week - Stanford Forward Foster Langsdorf - Week Ending September 3, 2017

Langsdorf had another extremely productive week of play scoring twice to help power the Cardinal past a good Creighton team 3-0 on Friday night. Corey Baird was credited with an assist on both of Langsdorf's goals.  

On Sunday Langsdorf also scored the lone goal with a double helper from Amir Bashti and Tanner Beason that proved to be the difference in Stanford's 1-0 win over Northeastern.

Langsdorf has scored a total of five goals so far this year.

The Cardinal who are now 3-0-0 will put their undefeated record on the line when they host SMU on Thursday and Tulsa on Saturday.

 

College Soccer News - National Player of the Week - Notre Dame Forward Jeff Farina - Week Ending August 27, 2017

Jeff Farina  Senior  Forward  Notre Dame 

Farina was a force on the offensive side of the ball for the Irish. He converted a picture perfect header off a double assist from teammates Felicien Dumas amd Tommy McCabe to net the insurance goal in Notre Dame's 2-0 win over San Diego in their season opener. He followed that up with a two goal performance to help the Irish top Cal Poly.  

Notre Dame secured the top finish in the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament for the eighth time. Farina was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the event.

Notre Dame returns to the pitch on September 2 when they travel to Storrs to face Connecticut at Morrone Stadium.
